Share PII for students in foster care

The Uninterrupted Scholars Act amendment to FERPA permits education agencies to disclose personally identifiable information (PII) of a student in foster care to a child welfare agency representative legally responsible for a student’s care in order to address a student’s educational needs, even without a parent’s consent. LEAs must record any disclosure of PII from education records. More information can be found here.
