How are students doing educationally?
Child welfare agencies must know how students in foster care are doing educationally to effectively meet their needs- including any social-emotional or behavioral challenges, attendance issues, school discipline, unmet special education needs, or other issues that might lead to a student being left back in school, dropping out, or being off track to graduate. This is also needed to meet federal requirements, such as including certain education records in students’ case plans and ensuring that educational stability requirements for students in foster care are met.
