CCWIS

Child welfare agencies can access federal funding to develop a Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS), which is a case management information system designed to promote high quality data exchanges. While using CCWIS is optional, agencies that choose to operate a CCWIS are required, if practicable, to implement bi-directional data exchanges with educational agencies to collect and share data to support educational planning for children in foster care.
